Team Information
Being a Team Captain is easy and a lot of fun! Here's what you need to know:

Step 1: Register Your Team
Click here to sign up your team online.  Just select "Start a Team," and you'll be designated as the team captain.  (If you cannot register online, you may print a mail-in registration form.) Once you've registered online (or provided an email on your mail-in registration form), you'll be given a personal webpage to customize with your own text and graphics.   You'll also be able to set up your team page.  You can add a company logo, picture of your team or anything else that sums up the spirit of your AIDS Walk team.

Step 2: Recruit and Register Your Teammates
You can use Kintera to send out up to 30 emails at a time, and save your email template to send out even more!  Recipients of your email will get a link to your personal page and team page where they can sign up to join your team and walk with you!  If your team members do not have online access, you can:
  

- Login to your Headquarters with the username and password you created when you registered.  Click on Tools, and Team Registration.
  
- Or, print out a registration form for your teammates to fill out and mail to CAP.


PLEASE NOTE:  In order to be eligible for team and individual prizes, your team MUST BE REGISTERED BY OCTOBER 6.  Your team will still qualify for a team prize if you register team members after October 6th, but they will not be eligible for top fundraising prizes.

Step 3: Fundraise!
Encourage your teammates to fundraise!  Challenge each other to see who can send out the most emails, get the greatest number of online donations, and bring in the most money.  Think of fun and creative ways to raise money as a team, like a bake sale!

Step 4: Collect Donations
Collect all donations from your team prior to the Walk.  Double check that their forms are filled out correctly.  Remember, only donations received BY THE DAY OF THE WALK will count toward your team and individual fundraising totals.  Make sure your teammates have only listed the donations on their forms that they are turning in to you.  Fill out a Team Update Sheet to include with your team's donations, and use it to note all money that will be turned in at AIDS Walk Portland.

Step 5: Get ready for AIDS Walk day
Set a meeting place for your team.  Some teams like to meet for breakfast and then ride the MAX to Pioneer Square together.  Others meet somewhere downtown.  If you did not yet sign up for a team photo, check in at the team photo area to see if there is a slot available.

Step 6: Come by the Registration tent at AIDS Walk
You are the only member of your team that needs to come to Registration.  One of our helpful volunteers will look over your paperwork and take your donations.  They'll give you prize tickets for your teammates who need them.

PLEASE NOTE:  Your teammates who registered for the Walk of Fame (W of F) and have raised $1,000 dollars should come to the Registration Tent with you to enjoy their walk down the red carpet and other W of F benefits.

Step 7: Have Fun!
