Red Ribbon Committee

The Red Ribbon Committee is comprised of community leaders, politicians, business, corporate leaders and professionals who are role models in the community, and their places of work and business on HIV/AIDS prevention. This committee is committed to:

• Create a team for AIDS Walk Portland through community contacts, friends, family, and coworkers.

• Raise $1,000 through corporate donation, fundraising or personal commitment.

• Promote CAP mission and AIDS Walk Portland in their workplace through awareness and education, internal e-newsletters, special events, posters, team development, and involvement of their community relations department.

• Speak with the media; radio, television, print (i.e. print, radio, television)

• Available for photo opportunities with the media at the event

• Attend AIDS Walk Portland on Sunday October 12, 2008; meet at the VIP Breakfast. VIP breakfast sponsored by Kimpton Hotel Group.

• Meet the "Walk of Fame" (adults raise $1000+, youth raise $500+) participants.

The mission of the Red Ribbon Committee is to facilitate and enhance the community's awareness, understanding and response to HIV/AIDS. The objectives of the Red Ribbon Committee are:

• To promote community participation in HIV prevention and education

• To encourage and enhance the development of quality HIV/AIDS education programs in the schools and the workplace

• To provide an avenue for local and international collaboration in the fight against HIV/AIDS

In addition you will receive: Membership in CAP’s Council of Partners at the Bronze Council level with recognition on the Donor Recognition wall in CAP’s lobby.
