Cascade AIDS Project’s Portland Youth Challenge - Overview:
AIDS Walk Portland engages Portland metro-area schools and youth programs in the Annual AIDS Walk Portland Youth Challenge. This challengeencourages youth in schools, school programs, social clubs, social networks and more to compete to raise vital funds for HIV prevention, care, and support services while building leadership skills and a sense of community. We make this a fun event with pre-walk parties and incentives for those who participate, along with a friendly competition. Specifically, we:
Reward the top two fund-raising teams that raise $1,000 or more with 50% of the funds they raise returned to them for sexual health education. To receive funds back, teams must designate a legally recognized entity to administer the funds for them and that entity must have clear policies that forbid discrimination related to race, gender, class, and/or sexual orientation.
Reward the top three Youth Teams with fabulous prizes that could include a CAP sponsored dance, event tickets, Nike gear, and possibly more.
Recognize the top three youth fund raisers with prizes.
At Cascade AIDS Project (CAP), we recognize we can’t solve the HIV pandemic on our own. We know our schools and youth groups can be a force for change. Schools and groups like yours have been at the very heart of positive change in the lives of youth in our community. We hope your school or group will decide to take part in this great cause.
AIDS Walk Portland seeks to engage Portland metro-area bars in the 4th Annual Bar Challenge in which bars and lounges will compete to raise critical funds for HIV prevention, care and support services. The team that raises the most money for AIDS Walk Portland will be recognized in our post-walk marketing efforts as the Bar Challenge Champion and will receive exclusive rights to:
Host the Post Event Awards Party. We will recognize the top fund raisers and top fund raising teams as well as sponsors on this night to be held approximately one week after the walk. CAP will work with the winner on securing high profile entertainment.
Be the official Point of Action for AIDS Walk Portland 2013 Bar Crawl pre event
AND
Receive Gold Level Sponsor recognition in all of 2013 materials (valued at $12,500)

We realize this fight won’t be won through funds alone, and every action can have an impact. That’s why this year, whether you are simply registering, supporting others, raising funds towards your personal goal, or helping spread the word about AIDS Walk, we’re giving points for all of it. Points add up fast, and you’ll be competing for some really top notch prizes!
Here’s what you can do to get points today:
Login: Login throughout the day! You get 1 point every time you login. (Maximum 20 points per day)
Earn 1 point for every dollar you donate to another team or walker.
Earn 1 point for each dollar you raise. Raise money by having your friends and family donate toward your fundraising goal.
Earn up to 25 points daily by posting a Facebook message from this website. Each post is worth 5 points. Remember to post throughout the day! (Maximum of 25 points per day)
Earn 5 points every time you email friends using one of the email buttons on this website. Send them a message telling them to donate, register or join your team! (Maximum of 50 points per day)
Earn 10 points for each friend you refer who registers for the walk. Just make sure they enter your email address in the "referred by" question in the registration form.
Earn 10 points for each person you recruit to your team. You still get the 10 points for referring a friend to register--and now you get 10 more if they join your team! As with the referral points, just make sure they enter your email address in the "referred by" question when they register to join your team.
